Shane and I completely stumbled onto this opportunity while spitballing ideas of how we could maintain a residential farm status in our county. A couple years ago we bought our acreage and joined our little families into a large family of 8. Shane and I are both passionate about being outdoors and in nature and with the growing concerns about bees, we thought it would be a way to give back to our environment. Not to mention we use a lot of honey with 8 people who all enjoy a hot cup of sweet tea and my growing interest in mixed media arts that use beeswax.

Our honey will contain particles of pollen that are too small to strain but may provide benefits to those with seasonal allergies.
Our bees tend to be surrounded with clover from the pastures near by so we produce a light tasting honey that can vary in colour from almost clear to a golden yellow.

The other method is using a small craft iron as a paint brush. The wax is melted onto the iron and then transferred onto encaustic paper.
